I'm getting ready to do a rather large automation install and I will have to install 3, outdoor cameras and 3 indoor cameras for surveillance.

I need good cams, say in the $250.00ea range that have IR light sourcing built in. I'd prefer wireless but can go either way. Those are for outdoor and can be B&W

Inside I need something not quite as expensive, but color cams and again, wireless if possible.

Do any of you have any recommendations that you could make regarding this price range of cameras for both indoor and outdoor use. They could be a bit more expensive if they are worth the money.

Suggestions anyone?

Inside I use Axis 207MW cameras. These are a megapixel, wireless, color IP cameras with MPEG-4 compression, and the image quality is excellent. They are also quite small. They run around $385, but they have a VGA res version, 207W, and wired-only version 207, and these are at least $100 less. In addition to streaming video, they can deliver still images too, to, for example, an iphone if you want a quick look at what is going on and don't have a lot of bandwidth.

Outside, I do not use IP cameras, because I want to use a modulator to distribute the images to the TVs around the house. To access the outdoor cameras I use, I have a Slingbox which makes a very inexpensive IP video server--it has a tuner in it to tune the camera signals, and I can access it from anywhere I have an IP connection--even on my iPhone.
The cameras I use outdoors are from Speco. www.specotech.com (http://www.specotech.com)

They offer cameras with IR illumination, but they also have a unique product called their Intensifier series, which uses image intensifier technology instead of IR to produce images at night. It can even produce color images in low light. They have a video demo on their web site comparing the IR cameras with the intensifier cameras. In addition to these video cameras, they also have a range of IP cameras. I found the intensifier camera to be a quality product, and they are available from Worthington Distribution.
