I haven't been receiving text message from HCA since yesterday and this is the first opportunity I've had to try to find out why.

I have an Email element embedded in one of my VP's that sends me a text when the front porch motion sensor is triggered. It was working and then just stopped. I've been getting my texts from everybody else so I figured something is wrong in HCA.

I wrote a small VP to do nothing be send me a test text when I asked it to and in watching the log, it hangs for several seconds on the email element and then pops and error - 5 and exits.

The number is correct, nothing has changed there. Nothing has changed in HCA. Don't know what an error 5 is. Anybody help on this one?

Did you enable the email sending log? Look in the HCA - Properties Visual Programs tab and press the email element setup button. There is a checkbox for enabling logging. Once you get a log please send it to tech support. DO NOT post it here at it can be very large.

It appears that at one point, hcamail.exe failed to send and hung. On further investigation last night, I found 14 copies of hcamail.exe running by looking in task manager. I noticed this becaue the whole system had bogged down to a slow crawl when I started to investigate.

I started a reboot (server2003) and it reported every instance as being unresponsive and I hand manually end task on each of them until they were cleared.

After reboot, the system has gone back to normal. I really don't know what caused this, I didn't have time last night to FULLY scan the logs but wrote a small program to do nothing but send me a text, each and every time I would start the program, it would hang for about 45 seconds and then return the error 5 and exit. This was while the dead copies of hcamail.exe were still in the task list.

Best I can figure is that at one point hcamail.exe hung sending the text and stayed in the task list, each time from then on when it tried to send the text, another copy of hcamail.exe was kicked off and it also hung.

The only solution was rebooting to get the dead copies out and the system cleaned up.

Anything you can do to try and nail this down would be helpful. The email developer will want those logs of what the email program is doing.
