I would really like to use the email and sms notification options in the VP. However, both google and msn (email servers I use) require TLS which HCA does not support. Until they do, does anyone know of any email service that does not require TLS?

Thanks....

Check to see if you can use your ISP... that's what I'm currently using.

I agree, your ISP probably has an account in your name that you may not be using, although some don't. I would call your ISP and ask if you have an email account on their servers. if they do, you should be able to use that with no problem.

This is a known issue one we hope to address in 9.1

You can install the SMTP service on windows, use open authentication for HCA to send to it and have it forward to your ISP using TLS. There are also some other mail programs which can be used similarly but I can't think of the names right now. Anything which will act as an SMTP relay and can do TLS will work.

Hi,

Just to provide a follow up on the Email TLS issue. We are currently working on the next version of HCA and have included an updated Email Element with some new features and enhancements. One of these features is the support of SSL/TLS.

Additionally we are also support multiple different auth methods.

Other new features will be listed when the new verison of HCA is released.
