I had a 2456D3 Lamplinc controlling a Christmas light for this holiday season. Since it is now no longer needed I decided to use it to replace the icon module in my daughters room. I did a device replacement with no problem and it works great controlling the night light. The problem is I never deleted the device "Christmas light" so now I have a device called "Christmas light" and "Night light" with the same Insteon address. Its really no big deal, I just thought HCA would have prompted me that another device had the same address. HCA troubleshooter doesn't even show it as a problem. I just deleted the device "Christmas light" to elimate any future confusion. You may want to have HCA check for this in future releases.

I actually like being able to do this... I have a couple of outlets throughout the house that are automated via switchlincs. During christmas, a christmas named versions, front holiday lights for example is enabled and the normal device, outside switched outlet is disabled. This allows me to create programs which reference the same selected holiday device and it allows me to easily keep track of them by having them in one holiday light folder. There are probably other ways of doing it, but I've found this method to work best for me. When I pack up the lamplincs for the indoor lighting I always disable them so they're not included in any network scans so I just do the same with the "duplicate" devices.

The Inspector should probably make a note and then, if you use this features, you can tick it off the Inspector list.
