Can HCA control/program an Insteon 2412N? I've been a long time HCA user and I've invested a fair amount of time in my home automation (although not nearly as detailed and intricate as some of you all!). A recent powersurge took out my old PowerLinc and I took the plunge and got an Insteon starter kit which came with an 2412N. To be honest, I bought it for the iPhone like interface, figuring that might help the WAF (wife acceptance factor), so I may have erred in selecting the right model controller.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

I may be mistaken, but I think the only thing that can control the 2421N is the built in web interface which the iphone connects to. The 2421N doesn't connect to the PC running HCA so there is no way for them to communicate to each other. I believe other users of HCA have used them in conjunction with the PowerLinc modems. HCA does include a web interface which gives you the same functionality as the 2421N interface, a bit more cause it interacts directly with HCA, but it isn't as clean of a UI in my mind.

That's what I figured. I'll have to look at another PowerLinc then. Is there a preference (or issues) for a 2412U or a 2413U?

I believe the 2413u is newer and suppose to be faster. I believe there are a few members who i've talked with who are using them without issue. I personally still have a 2412u.
