The HCA client Android application has been now uploaded to the Android market.

Future releases will be made to the market. The automatic upgrade detection features on the Android platform will notify you when this happens.

If you have downloaded the HCA Application from our support web site, we suggest you uninstall what you have and then go to the market, search for HCA, and install.

In the market upload, there were a few fixes and the help text was updated.

Will the Android application run on a T-mobile "mytouch" phone? It does not appear to work. It does work on newer phones.

One of the great advantage of Android is the number of platforms it is available on. That's also makes it hard for us to test on all.

We tested on the Motorola Droid - older and newer. Also have reports of some HTC phones working but I can make no reprsentations on the whole sweep of Andoid phones.

The client does require at least Android 2.1

Maybe we should start a thread just for folks to post which phones it is working with and generate a list? I'm using the LG Ally with Verizon (VS740 I think) - most current phone firmware release (Android 2.1 Update 1). I installed it on by my phone and mywife's phone and so far everything I've tried works fine. I use it both on the home network and remotely - the dual IP address (internal and external) works great. The HCA APP is version 10.0.3 (latest from Android Market).

I changed my phone to use the Velocity ROM and I'm not sure if that's why but my Android HCA app causes my phone to reset and reboot every time. It's very difficult to troubleshoot a reboot. I don't even need to do anything - just connect to my HCA server and let it sit there and it reboots the phone within 10 seconds or less. It does this whether I connect to primary or secondary, and I've also removed all of the displays but one from the touch screen GUI just in case there was something odd in one of the displays causing it. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot now since it always reboots the phone. I've even uninstalled and re-installed the HCA app several times.

It is the over-clocking of the CPU which for some reason causes HCA to reboot the phone. When I do not overclock faster than the normal clock speed of the phone, HCA works with no reboots, but when I overclock even a bit faster than the phones standard clock speed, HCA triggers a reboot 100% of the time. I can set it to any combination of speeds up to 600 MHz and it works fine - even when I set both the min and max speeds to 600 MHz, but anything over 600 MHz and it reboots some random amount of time after the HCA app connects to the server. I don't need to do anything other than just connect to the server and let it sit there and it will crash/reboot within a few minutes.
