I was curious about how folks are using VP, and how they are triggering events/programs/etc.
Coming from an AHP setup, I have the notion of flat macros in my head, and I am trying to really think outside the box. My first few attempts at VP have been, well, entertaining :) But I'm getting there.
So what I am trying to do is this: I have motion sensors in the driveway, etc and have complex-ish programs around them - depending on time triggered, etc. I'm getting there, but my issue is my logic more than HCA's ability to execute on what I want. I keep tweaking things - eventually I won't have the garage lights turn off on me while I am still walking in the garage (and usually carrying something heavy LOL)
At any rate, here's the net of my question - I have a "sweeper" program I run on a schedule - one at 2 am to make sure everything is turned off, and one that runs at 9:00 AM that makes sure everything is off after the kids leave for school. I assume standard practice is to have ONE program, multiple schedule entries, with tests to see when they are being triggered - and based on triggering time, do certain things? So here's the interesting part - I want to add a flag status based on a date book enrty - Amy works as a nurse, so her schedule is a bit out there :) I would like to be able to go through the datebook, add her days to the datebook, and have the visual program make decisions based on this - for example, put her schedule a month in advance, in the the datebook, that on the 19th, she is working - set the "Amy is working" flag to yes - so the sweeper program that runs at 9am turns everything off - but if she is home, then leave some things on, etc. Is this possible?
