An installed Insteon network has many links. Questions arise like: What keypad button controls what? What switch paddle is linked to what other devices? Who controls this LampLinc?
By reading all the network linking tables HCA can produce a map of all these links and answer your linking questions.
Select from the menu Insteon - Insteon Network Map.
15
This dialog shows the name of each of your Insteon devices in the first column. For each device the second column shows the Insteon address and the third column shows the linking table version.
For each component that can transmit (keypad button or switch paddle) HCA shows what it controls. There may be more than one line if the button controls more than one device.
If the device has a load, HCA shows what devices it responds to.
And finally, for KeypadLincs, HCA shows any links that control the button LEDs.
The last column is the scene name if there is one. When creating scenes using the HCA Visual Scene Editor you can name the scene you create if you want. For scenes with no name HCA creates a name.
This same map is part of the HCA design printout (File - Page Setup and File - Print) but also can be captured to the clipboard in CSV format for importing into other programs.
One Important Note:
The Network Map only shows what HCA knows about the linking tables of the devices. Make sure that HCA has an up-to-date copy of them by performing a Network - Database Capture.
