Has anyone any experience having an 1132 and a 2414 on line at once. I found that the 2414 alone is not good especially in the area of dimming X10 devices. Using both at the same time causes misfires on X10; devices coming on and not going off as planned. Anybody got any experience?

It seems that there is some magic in placing Power Line Interfaces. A couple of years ago, I replaced the UPS that powers my home control computer and X10 communications (all that I wa using at the time) became very spastic. After much shuffling things around, I found that if I inserted an extension cord in series with the UPS things worked as before. Since then I have “isolated” the Power Line Interfaces from each other and the UPS with 25’ extension cords. This is in a closet that is 2’X3’. I use both the 1132CU and the 2414U as the X10 seems to work better that way.

Well I don't have much experience with running x10 as it was always problematic in my place and once Insteon came out I completely migrated. I will say that earlier this year I moved my 2414 into the basement, and a lot of signals were lost. Turns out that my washing machine was the cause of the interference, even when it wasn't running. I ended up having to put a huge filter on it in order to get reliable control of my devices. Now everything works perfectly.

I have tried seperating the 1132 fom the 2414 and we'll see what happens. I would eliminate the 1132 but I don't like the way the 2414 dimms x10 devices!

Another thing to try is to kill the power to rooms one by one to see if there is something within that room causing noise on the powerline. That's how I found the washer to be the culprit in my house.
