Any plans to make an iPhone interface (e.g. it looks/act like a normal iphone app)?
- web based or native?

If yes, what is the ETA?

thx

yes we have an iphone interface. if you are running an apple device that has a browser interface like the iphone or touch then adding /32 to the home url for hca will give you the iphone interface.

we currently only have the web interface. we do not have a native app at this time. with apples improvements on the Push server and the critical mass of iphones we could consider a native app in the future, but it wouldnt add anymore functionality then the web interface, which is already bundled in with HCA, at no extra charge.

I'm talking about an app (native or web) formatted like an iPhone app... sliding screens, animated buttons, iPhone UI look'n'feel

If you are talking about the web interface you have posted here:
http://www.hcatech.com/index.php?sid=features&pid=web_interface
- again, this has functionality... but not something anyone would look at and say... "Nice iPhone app"

Seems that with the critical mass of iPhone/iPod users this would be a must have addition - especially with the ease of making a web UI look like an iPhone app given iUI, iWebKit, jqTouch, etc.

At this time we don't have plans for a *native* iPhone interface.
The questions we ask ourselves when putting action items on our "to do" list is this. Does it improve the interface? Does it improve the ability to control hardware in a home? Does it do both?
These are always hard questions to answer. As most changes always seem to be in the "does both" category.
But we try and always to give priority to "does it make it better to control your home" category. That's why we focus so often on support for new hardware or better ways to get all available function of existing hardware.
The web interface we have does a lot that we like:

It is "in the box"
It isn't an add-on product at an extra cost.
It works very reliably.
It has some nice features for viewing the log and inspector checklist - both options help you see remotely what is happening when things go wrong.
It has the virtual keypads that make it easier to initiate actions at a distance.
Is it the best UI in the world? No. Could it be improved? Absolutely! As would every feature in HCA. Does it "get the job done". Yes.

We don't lack for ideas we only lack for resources.

I think you will find that the Web Interfaces does the job and we are committed to improving it.
