Some individuals with no respect for the law have been sending out junk email from the AdvancedQuonsetTech domain.  In particular from some of the tech support email addresses.

Advanced Quonset Technology, Inc. has not been sending out these emails.  They are not the result of a virus on our machines.

As everyone who works with email knows it is very simple to forge the "from" address of an email.  While we have threatened these people with legal action, they know that in reality they can continue to do this with impunity.  Just do a quick Google search for "spam forged from" and you will see case after case of individuals and companies disclaiming that junk email came from them.

Because of this incident we had to stop using all email addresses on the AdvancedQuonsetTech domain.  If you have sent email to that address lately we didn't receive it.

If you have been working with one of our tech support folks, please update your address book and don't reply to old emails they we sent to you with the AdvancedQuonsetTech domain.  Instead send email to the same username just at the HCATech.com domain.

We apologize for this but it wasn't our fault.

Well we made a mistake!  Not with the programming - that we got right!

The problem was we had too many flavors of HCA and it got too many folks confused.   Not the least of all ourselves.

So what we have done is to drop "HCA for SmartHome PowerLinc" and "HCA for SmartHome PowerLinc (limited)".  We now have these flavors of HCA:

What's in each flavor?  We have a chart to help you out.

HCA Limited is our new "free for the download" version of HCA.  This version is feature reduced but not time limited.  If you have a CM11, SmartHome PowerLinc, SmartHome HouseLinc, or Marrick interface you can download and use this today.   But it's like you dad told you when you were growing up - there is no free lunch.   This version is reduced in features and you almost certainly will find that your needs will outgrow it.  Hopefully we have you hooked and you will purchase one of the other flavors.  Well, at least we are honest.

So what if you are a HCA for SmartHome PowerLinc user?  Do not worry!  We are going to upgrade all of you to HCA Standard at no cost.  HCA Standard has all the features of the flavor of HCA you have today and more!

If you are still using HCA 4 and don't want to upgrade to HCA 5, when you upgrade to 4.2c the password you get is for HCA Standard.

Want to keep using HCA for SmartHome PowerLinc? Well, ok, if you really want to.   We will continue to provide support for as long as you need it.  But upgrading is simple and to your advantage.

NOTE:  Don't get too confused if you have been using the SmartHome PowerLinc with HCA Plus.  If so, this does not apply.  You already have the software you need.
